According to Page and officials with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) it was a "Glory Hallelujah Day" in Atlanta at Clark Atlanta University where the good news was delivered.

Stillman President Yolanda Page attended and spoke at the event where the UNCF officials announced the huge grant to support UNCF's capital campaign courtesy of Lilly Endowment.

UNCF's capital campaign is a $1 Billion initiative that will include five major pieces.

Those five include student scholarships, unrestricted funds to enhance endowments at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), capacity-building campaigns for member HBCUs in tech, training and research, cash reserves for UNCF, and support for UNCF's annual campaign.

UNCF decided to use the grant money to aid member institutions in building their endowment funds for all 37 member universities.

Stillman College's eighth President Yolanda Page made remarks on behalf of the 37-member institutions of UNCF.

Page stated that this gift will have a "lasting impact" on the financial health of each school. She also spoke of how much these financial resources would help Stillman College and the other institutions bolster academic programs in the future.

She called endowment growth "critical" when it comes to attracting faculty and providing scholarships to students.
