United Way of West Alabama announced the release of a new app for digital devices to make it easier for people in West Alabama to connect with its programs, community resources, and volunteer opportunities.

The app will also have information on any upcoming events and donor benefits. The app will be available on all Apple and Android digital devices. The new United Way of West Alabama app will serve as a free mobile hub for the work happening across the nine-county area the organization serves. Jackie Wear, President and CEO of United Way of West Alabama, said it was all about making it easier for people to stay connected to United Way.
Community Relations Manager Austin Smithson developed the app in-house as part of an effort to modernize how donors, volunteers, and community members interact with United Way of West Alabama. The app will feature news, community stories, events, campaign updates, partner-agency info, and resources from programs and initiatives including 2-1-1, Young Leaders Society, ReUnited, and the Alexis de Tocqueville Society.
It also provides an enhanced mobile experience for one of UWWA's most popular benefits: the Donor Rewards Card.
The United Way of West Alabama app is available today through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
