The Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa opened in 2011 and can hold 8,400 people at capacity. Experienced and savvy manager Kay Day has led the venue in recent years and made major changes to how events are booked. For years, a large concert promoter booked the events; however, that promoter was booking events in multiple cities very close to Tuscaloosa. Now, Danny Wimmer Presents books the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater shows. Wimmer is focused on bringing the best entertainment to Tuscaloosa.

Kay Day, a recent guest with Steve & DC on 95.3 The Bear, said another concert announcement is still to come for 2026, and 2027 could be the biggest and best year yet. Day said it can be difficult to make everyone happy; however, she still wants as much input as possible from anyone living in Tuscaloosa. Recently, she said they developed a partnership with a student group from the University of Alabama, and after a recent tour of the Amp, she listened to their opinions on artists they would like to see in the future.

Day said they cross music-genre boundaries to draw from all over West Alabama. The Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater has booked Country, Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Alternative Rock, and Contemporary Christian artists. Future shows should follow a similar pattern of plenty of variety. Alternative Rock band Sublime is in concert Friday night, September 18th. Country hitmaker Jon Pardi is in concert on October 23.
