Government Plaza will be filled with experienced and first-time runners, thrill seekers and doughnut lovers this Saturday for the Tuscaloosa Kripsy Kreme Challenge.

Now in it's 3rd year, the Tuscaloosa KKC is a fun way to spend time with friends, get to know new ones, enjoy a dozen glazed doughnuts (or not) and raise money and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Alabama.

This year, for the first time, you can get a bunch of friends together and sign up as a team. Teams can include a minimum of four people and a maximum of ten. A team is only responsible for eating 24 doughnuts, split between all members of the Team, however you would like. Each team member only pays $25!

Also new this year, if you’ve participated in this event previously, you’ll receive a special REPEAT CONTENDER race shirt, and a new way to boast about your accomplishments!

When your quest is over, don’t miss the huge after party at Innisfree Irish Pub & Restaurant! Free food for all participants wearing their Race Bibs!!! $5 donation for non-participants.

Big Brothers Big Sisters director Danielle McInerney stopped by to talk about the race and what BBBS does. Check out our conversation below.

Sign up here and join us on for the 3rd annual Krispy Kreme Challenge!
