GROCERY PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS
Are they not?
Don't get me started on a dozen eggs.
Everyone in Alabama and around the country is painfully aware of how much food costs.
We recently reported some good news on this topic of grocery prices.
Thank God, Alabama, happens to be home to two of the "most affordable grocery stores in America".
YouTube is loaded with videos on "grocery store money saver" hacks.

The most overpriced grocery stores in the USA?
We have a couple of them in Alabama for sure.
Birmingham, Alabama is home to one of these overpriced outlets.
Tuscaloosa, Alabama has one of the other overpriced grocery stores.
ALABAMA'S MOST OVERPRICED GROCERY STORES
I used to enjoy grocery shopping.
Yeah, that's not the case anymore.
It is costing SO MUCH and you get SO LITTLE.
Have you noticed this?
Last night, I bought a package of potato chips in Northport, Alabama.
The container was not even half filled.
It was one of those "pringles" type containers and the chips only filled about 1/3 of the tube.
We all have our favorite places to shop in Alabama.
Those are usually the stores that we feel have the best deals and prices.
Recently, the food experts at Delish, came up with a list of the most OVERPRICED grocery stores in America.
These "overpriced" stores are...
WHOLE FOODS
According to the writers at Delish, this is why they put it on the list:
There’s a reason why Whole Foods is often referred to as “Whole Paycheck.” Since being founded in 1980, Whole Foods has earned a reputation for being one of the most overpriced grocery stores in the country. It’s faced scandal after scandal, from selling a bottle of water with three stalks of asparagus for $6, to their former CEO blaming America’s obesity crisis on “making poor choices” and “ignorance.”
Next on the list...
THE FRESH MARKET
I happen to love "The Fresh Market" in Tuscaloosa.
I find so many things in the store that I just can not find in any other store.
Including my favorite thing to put in all of my drinks...Craft Ice Balls.
Ok, that's not the actual name but I love these ice balls.
They are huge and they take a long time to melt.
Here's what the writers at Delish had to say:
The Fresh Market was founded by Ray and Beverly Berry in 1982 after they took a trip to Europe and were inspired by all the open-air markets. They now have 159 locations in 22 states and are dedicated to offering high-quality groceries.
The Fresh Market sells great products in every department. You can stock up on house-made croissants, freshly cut floral arrangements, specialty cheeses, and luxurious private-label products sourced from artisans all over the world. It sounds like the grocery store of everyone’s dreams—but there’s a catch. It’s pricey. With most of its locations situated in affluent areas, it’s clear that their primary demographic is not the average shopper.
Happy grocery shopping everyone!
