Satanic Group Offering Program For Alabama Elementary Students
So, first things first.
Merry Christmas! Oh, yeah, Satan wants to talk with your little kids.
I had to stare at that headline for 30 minutes today. Satan and offering in the same sentence will make you do a double take.
It's still very hard to believe or make sense of such a thing.
Once again, the always controversial (I am sure that's the goal) Satanic group wants to come to the Bible belt.
They love to stir it up.
The temple claims that local folks asked for an alternative to "Christian religious instruction".
These programs started many years ago and students were given religious instruction for around one hour during the school day.
These are called "release" programs because students are not in the school building during the course. It's happening this year at Edgewood Elementary in Marysville, Ohio.
When leaders from the Satanic Temple have been asked or interviewed by the media they have repeatedly made comments or jokes about "invading the Alabama Bible belt" next.
This isn't even the first time the temple has targeted Alabama as a state where it wants to make some noise.
The kicker is the "big red bus" the Satanists use to shuttle students around town. No, not short and yellow but big and red.
Those wacky Satanists are real cutups.
The Satanic Temple argues that America is built on freedom and that should mean they are free to teach our children an "alternative" to other religions.
How will that go over in Alabama?
Well, I'm guessing like a fart in church.
