Former Alabama Coach Nick Saban Picks His Two “Best Teams” In SEC

Media Days have everyone talking. Alabama Coach Kalen DeBoer delivered his speech with Nick Saban in the room, taking notes. What was he thinking? Maybe now we know some of his thoughts.

Coach Saban just picked the two teams that he expects to dominate the SEC in 2026/2027. Who are they? Well, one of them is Georgia. Saban said Georgia feels much better this year than last year. It came time for him to reveal his second team, and that team was........

TEXAS!

That's right. Nick Saban said he expects Georgia and Texas to own the SEC this upcoming season. Coach Saban raved about QB Gunner Stockton and talked about how many guys they brought back this season. Then he talked about Texas's overall talent and how much more talent they have at the moment than all other teams.

Wait a minute. Then came the next two teams after Georgia and Texas, and I'm sure one of them was Alabama. Right? No, it was LSU and Texas A&M. It took quite a long time for him to finally get to Alabama. He mentioned Oklahoma and Ole Miss before he got to the Crimson Tide.

I can not remember a pre-season with nobody picking Alabama or putting much faith in the Tide to be one of the best in the SEC. It's been a LONG time since that happened.

Is that a really bad omen? Or are we poised to shock the world?
