Pat McAfee And Nick Saban Surprise Alabama Charity
The GOAT and the ESPN rebel teamed up to help an Alabama charity that is making an impact nationwide.
The charity group calls the Tuscaloosa area home while working to aid hurricane victims in North Carolina.
The organization is known as High Socks For Hope and their mission is "bringing people hope and home".
The devastating tornadoes in Tuscaloosa in 2011 marked the beginning of their many years of helping to aid those affected by disasters. That tragedy that claimed so many lives gave birth to lots of good as well.
Since 2011, they have furnished over 15,000 homes, with over 3,000 in the Tuscaloosa.
Judy Holland is the Managing Director for High Socks For Hope and she joined Steve & DC on WFFN-FM (95.3 The Bear) this morning and told the exclusive story behind the surprise.
Listen below:
Pat McAfee and Nick Saban both gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to help Judy Holland and her group as they provided aid to Hurricane Helene victims.
The money went to High Socks For Hope and a few other groups working to help victims in North Carolina.
It all started with a kick on ESPN and big hearts willing to make a huge impact.
Holland says the Sabans have been very generous to her organization through the years.
One of her missions now is to let the people of West Alabama know that they are located right here in their hometown.
They need donations to continue their great work and they are here for local families in need to reach out.
You can find them online at highsocksforhope.org.
