Tuscaloosa Mayor To Serve As Chair Of Mayors
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox has been invited by the United States Conference of Mayors to serve as the Chair of the Mayors and Metro Universities Task Force and as Vice Chair of Philanthropy for the Public-Private Task Force.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors is a group of mayors from all across the country working together to strengthen partnerships for their cities and collaborate on projects and exchange ideas. Mayor Maddox announced the honor earlier today on social media and spoke of his gratitude for this opportunity. It's also a testament to the success of the city of Tuscaloosa as well as our leadership.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors has several meetings scheduled for the Fall of 2026, with the next meeting scheduled for September 24th in San Diego. That meeting will focus on Mayors and Police Chiefs from around the country.
