Just like the song from Alabama, I believe there are Angels among us, sent down to us, from somewhere up above. They come down to show us how to live, to teach us how to give. To guide us with a light of LOVE.  This describes the life of Angel Eaton, who lost her battle with cancer at age 18.

Angel still lives on today in the eyes of people like her mom, Kim Eaton & Monk, that will be collecting items for Angel’s Hope at University Mall Saturday, Feb 4th 10am-2 pm.  Monk says, "We’ll be collecting items for kids to deliver to the hematology/oncology floor at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, on Valentine’s Day."  It's obvious that Angel impressed our resident Monk at 95.3 The Bear.  It's why he stuck that "Crusing for Angel" sticker on the Bear truck. :)

Donations must be new; Please NO violent-themed toys, latex, yoyo’s, paddle balls, pretend guns or food/candy.  In addition, we’d like to include a Valentine’s Day fleece blanket with each bag (we need at least 24). We also need large Valentine’s Day bags and Valentine’s Day wrapping paper.  Here's what is needed for a Big 95.3 Bear Hug...

More About Angel's foundation....

Angel’s Hope is a not-for-profit started by friends and family of Tuscaloosa teen Angel Eaton, who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer at just 18-years-old. Throughout her fight, Angel never lost her will to live, and she never lost her desire to help other children and families who were fighting their own battle. Using the name “Angel’s Little Rays of Sunshine,” she collected various items to donate to the hematology/oncology floor (otherwise known as 8QB) at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. She donated food for the food pantry, toiletry bags for parents and gift cards and toys for the kids.

Angel’s Hope will be accepting donations through Feb. 10. Please email angelshope619@gmail.com to arrange for pick-up of items. Donations can also be made by clicking here.  More information & more Bear Hug's for Angel here http://953thebear.com/local-not-for-profit-collecting-items-for-childrens-hospital-this-weekend/
