Arapahoe County Dismisses All Charges Against Former Alabama Receiver

Former University of Alabama and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was arrested on May 12 on charges of criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer.

Jeudy and his accuser both appeared before Judge Chantel Contiguglia the following day in Arapahoe County to determine the next steps in the case. Jeudy's accuser, the mother of his child, asked the judge to dismiss the case after the property dispute was resolved.

On Monday, the Arapahoe County District Attorney's office filed a motion to dismiss all charges against Jeudy. Judge Contiguglia ordered the dismissal to be done on Tuesday.

“The victim expressed she did not feel annoyed, inconvenienced, threatened or intimidated in any way by the defendant,” the motion to dismiss reads. “Thus, the People believe it would be very difficult to prove a necessary element of the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Further, the victim indicates she wants the case dismissed and will not cooperate in its prosecution.”

Jeudy and the mother of his child were in a dispute over Jeudy's possession of her wallet, a car seat and medical paperwork for the infant.

The arresting agency reported that the incident between Jeudy and the child's mother did not involve physical contact and no property was damaged, however the existing relationship meant the domestic-violence enhancer.

Jeudy is cleared of all criminal charges however he still could face punishment by the NFL under its personal conduct policy.
