The theme of the art competition is "Reflecting on Alabama's 7th: Where History Is Made".

You're encouraged to submit everything from drawings to paintings, to photographs, or even mixed-media designs.

Rep. Sewell says she hopes to encourage imagination and creativity with this contest.

The winner will be chosen by an expert panel of judges, and the best part is the grand prize: whoever is chosen will receive free round-trip airfare for two to Washington, D.C., to attend an official Congressional reception, and that is not all.

The winner's artwork will be proudly displayed in the United States Capitol building for an entire year.

Those interested can submit entries in a few different ways, including drop-off or online. To coordinate a drop-off, please contact one of the district offices at one of the following numbers:

Tuscaloosa -  205-752-5380

Birmingham - 205-254-1960

Selma (334) 877-4414

Montgomery (334) 262-1919

Sewell says she looks forward to reviewing each submission and having the winning artwork displayed in Washington, D.C. Remember, the deadline to submit materials is March 2, 2026.

Sewell's team says, as always, please feel free to check their website regularly for further updates.
