Controversial Traffic Control System Could Come To West Alabama
As a small child, I traveled with my family to Europe, and in addition to the many differences of driving on a different side of the road and other things, they also had very few traffic lights.

Many other countries use a system called a roundabout that doesn’t have any lights, and it’s designed so that most of the time you don’t stop.
Many transportation officials in America have been very interested in this system. After seeing how much safer it seems to be than a standard intersection.
Now, according to WBRC TV, the Community of West Blocton could get a roundabout later this year.
The community is putting it up for debate and would like input from residents in Bibb County.
ALDOT is openly inviting anyone who would like to attend an upcoming session on the matter.
The proposal would have the new system at Alabama 5 and Vance Road.
The meeting will be held on Monday night at West Blocton High School.
