Here comes a new venue that promises to bring in artists who will definitely turn some heads.

The idea for the new venue comes from Alabama businessman Ric Mayers and will be named "Two Dimes".

Mayers told us that he and his partners are bringing in 46 nationally touring concerts to town, and mentioned Bailey Zimmerman as one of the artists coming to town.

In addition to live music, Mayers says they will also bring in live comedy nights a couple of times a month.

Mayers also added that even when concerts are not on the calendar, live music will be on the calendar. The venue will host live country bands and artists on those nights.

Two Dimes will be located on University Boulevard in Tuscaloosa in the former Druid City Music Hall facility.

According to Mayers and his team, the new venue will have cutting-edge lighting, LED video walls, immersive graphics, and VIP seating.

Mayers joined us on 95.3 The Bear to discuss his friendship with President Trump and his plans for the new "Two Dimes".

Listen below for the scoop.

Ric Mayers tells us this isn't just another stage. He says it's the most advanced live entertainment venue in the South.

No expenses spared, according to Mayers, it's a building with two stories and room for 1600 concertgoers.

He also tells us the goal for opening the new "Two Dimes" venue is August 15.
