Tuscaloosa School Brings In Goats To Get Ready For School Year

We're in the middle of a heatwave, and no idea is a bad idea. So, lots of talk about one Tuscaloosa school and the way they are getting the school grounds prepared for this year. The school is Tuscaloosa Academy, and the animal of choice this year is the goat. No, this has nothing to do with Coach Nick Saban. We're talking about old-fashioned goats. The school brought in at least a couple dozen goats to help get the grounds ready around campus. The goats came from the Mud Creek Goat Company, and they have posted some great videos of the goats.

Tuscaloosa Academy has been posting updates on the progress of the goats. The mission of the goats from the start was to clear kudzu, vines, briars, and other overgrown vegetation. The school has posted plenty of information on social media about the "four-legged" crew and how environmentally friendly they are for the project. For instance, they posted a fact about adult goats and how they can eat up to 20% of their body weight in vegetation each day.

The goats came from Mud Creek Goat Company, and the company will bring them back home after their work is done. Tuscaloosa Academy has even been encouraging families to keep an eye out and count the goats they see on campus.
