University Of Alabama Expands Support For Military Members
The Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based University of Alabama has a long and impressive history of support for the US military.
That history continued with a new addition today that could assist many serving our country in their educational goals.
The University of Alabama announced an increase in its support of the military with the UA Online Military Tuition Grant

In a statement online, UA officials expressed appreciation for all active duty military, National Guard, and reserve student service members.
They also stated their desire for there to be no limits to education regardless of an individual's military service.
The military tuition grant was previously only available to undergraduate students before today's announcement makes it available to active-duty graduate students.
The grant will now help with tuition costs that are not covered by the current military assistance.
The credit hours covered include up to six per semester and as many as 18 per academic year, up to whatever the maximum amount is allowed by the students' branch of service.
According to the announcement from the University of Alabama, the tuition for a UA online program can be nearly free for military service members, with the exception of books and fees.
Amanda Ingram, executive director of online and continuing education, stated, "This expansion is an investment that reflects our deep gratitude and commitment to those who serve."
So far, the grant has helped nearly 350 service members with over $200,000 covered in out-of-pocket expenses.
The University of Alabama already has an impressive list of accolades in relation to its commitment to our US military members. This includes recognition in U.S. Veterans magazine for being a top "Veteran Friendly" institution.
The school is also a "gold" level military-friendly Tier 1 research Institute for 2025/2026.
