Tide Basketball Prospect Expected to Choose His Next Team

Jarin Stevenson is expected to announce his decision on Wednesday, June 21, as to which one of his top three teams he'll play for in the 2023 season. He's cut his list down to Virginia, North Carolina and Alabama.

Jarin stands at 6-foot-10 and hails from Seaforth High School in Pittsboro, North Carolina. He is ranked as a five-star prospect by 247Sports Composite, also making him the No. 3 power forward in the class of 2024.

He'll announce his commitment at 8 p.m. EST.

Stevenson averaged over 20 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior, and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for North Carolina. Stevenson is the No.16 overall recruit in the country.

Jarin received what was the first offer of the recruiting class of 2024 from the University of Virginia. However, he collected offers from premier programs such as North Carolina, Alabama, Georgetown and Missouri.

North Carolina is considered the likeliest place Jarin will go for his college career. His family has a history there with his mother Nicole (Walker) Stevenson playing basketball there in the 1990s.

However, don’t count Virginia out of the race just yet. While on his official visit to campus, he seemed really impressed and enjoyed himself.

Stevenson has reclassified himself, so he will be starting college this fall. The speculation will all come to an end on Wednesday if and when Stevenson announces his college home.
