Saban Has Been Called Many Things, but This is a New One
Nick Saban is gearing up for another Crimson Tide football season. This year though, he decided not to release a depth chart. Now, a depth chart usually isn’t a big deal. It's generally just used as a coaching aid to guide the players in their roles on the field.
However, every little detail can become an issue when you're Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

Fox Sports commentator Tim Brando took exception to coach Saban not releasing the Tide's Depth chart, accusing him of being a “bully.”
Brando took to his official “X” account, formerly known as Twitter, sharing his about the seven-time national champion head coach's decision.
“Nick Saban’s not delivering a depth chart is beneath him, despite likely giving the guys calling the game some semblance of lineups. He should be above that, but clearly, these days, he’s not in the best of moods,"
Brando later took to the same site to explain in a video why he took such issue with Saban not releasing a depth cart, and why its so important to the media.
As reported by 1819 News, Brando continued his attack on coach Saban.
“Why bully his local media in such a manner? The …kissing he’s demanding here is a joke! When much is given, much is also expected, and the Goat needs to act like the greatest as opposed using your brand as a bully pulpit, and that’s all this is! Using its 'etched in stone' is a bit much when the truth really is my QB room ain’t what it used to be.”
Coach Saban has never been scared to share his opinion to the media.
“There's a lot of competition on the team when we put a depth chart out," Saban said recently.
"You all think that's like final. This is etched in stone. It's going to be this way forevermore. Just because we come out of fall camp, and that's where it is. It creates a lot of distractions on our team and guys thinking, 'Well, this guy won the job now, and I'm not going to play' or whatever. And quite frankly, we don't need that."
