The 2023 season is not far off and Texas is looking for revenge.

Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian shared his thoughts at SEC Media Days on why he thinks Texas can beat Alabama.

Sarkisian said, “I think we’ll have the mental fortitude to go do it, the mental toughness to go do it, and the physical toughness to go do it because this is going to be a physical football game. They’re a big, physical football team that will be very well coached, and we just have to make sure that they get our best shot.”

Texas will open its home season with Rice before making the trip to Tuscaloosa for the September 9 showdown.

FOX54 in Huntsville reported Sarkisian had this to say about last year’s clash with the Tide.

“We thought we played them well a year ago. We didn't play well enough. So, the key to the drill when we go there we have to play better than we did last year.”

The 2023-2024 season is Texas’s last year in the Big 12. Sarkisian would love to leave the conference on a high note, and a win over Alabama would be just that.
