The Southeastern Conference does not allow alcohol sales in Bryant Denny Stadium or at least not in general seating. The SEC seems committed to the existing rule while team like Ohio State and Minnesota are among Big Ten schools that allow alcohol sales. The Big 12 has Texas and West Virginia and the ACC has Syracuse and Miami.

According to the Tuscaloosa News SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey wasn’t budging Monday at the Associated Press Sports Editors Southeast Region meeting at UAB.

“The conference has a policy that says that we’re not selling alcohol in the general seating area,” Sankey said. “Now, you can agree or disagree with that policy, but that’s the policy. The basis for changing that or maintaining it is one that’s developed in the conversation.”
