Failing In Tuscaloosa: The Rest Of The Story
I'm always amazed at the number of friends who are Bama fans but don’t know the story of the Fail Room.

The visitors’ locker room at Alabama has a storied past. And it is sort of based in innocence. Sort of.
Nonetheless, the story is worth sharing with a Bama fan or two just in case they are not aware of the FAIL room that is Alabama tradition.
The great Mal Moore once visited a big University donor. When he arrived, the donor was wearing a hat that read FAIL U. James Fail said he put the hat on when people came calling for donations. Seems everybody wanted Mr Fail's money, but never wanted to put his name on anything.
They laughed about the name. Mr Fail ended up donating a million dollars to the U of A. The media room at the football office was chosen & Mr Fail wanted it named after his father-in-law. So be it.
Mal Moore had a funny thought leaving Mr Fail's office. When that media room was dedicated, Mal Moore said: "For another million dollars we will name the visitors locker room after you". The FAIL ROOM at Bryant Denny. And so be it.
Since the locker room was officially named the FAIL ROOM in December 2008, the teams using it have only won 4 times out of 56 tries...a 93% failure rate!
The FAIL ROOM is living up to its name. So be it.
