We have plenty of other things on our plates, and keeping track of the latest laws is not one of them.

Of course, some Alabama laws are just plain crazy. In fact, we can prove it.

I think my favorite wacky law is the one about putting salt on a railroad track. Is that gonna cause a train to derail? A little salt on the track?

WHO KNOWS?

Now, let's talk about a serious Alabama law.

This law is now on the books, and it is no laughing matter.

It is officially known as the NO TOUCH law in Alabama.

I'm probably gonna be the first in Alabama to be pulled over and written up for this violation.

I have a hard time keeping my hands off of it while I'm driving.

It's just a thing, and I feel weird when I'm not touching it.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS!

Do you drive a vehicle with all the "hands-free" capabilities?

If you do, it would be a good idea to use it and keep your hands off your device.

This new law in Alabama makes it illegal to touch your phone for ANY reason.

You are not allowed to adjust your GPS/Directions apps, reply to, or read text messages.

Here's another important point:

You can't touch it even if you're stopped at a red light.

ONE EXCEPTION REMAINS

The only exception to the "No Touch" law is placing an emergency 9-1-1 call from your device.

If you use bluetooth headsets you are in good shape but if you don't keep those hands off that device while driving in Alabama.

The fines can be very costly and they escalate with each offense.
