A Tuscaloosa family recently received the most shocking news you could imagine.13-year-old Kei’lan Allen was shot and killed while playing on his iPad in his bedroom.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help his family in their time of need. According to the GoFundMe page, Kei’lans mother is seeking new living arrangements for herself and her daughters after being forced to witness such a devastating situation.

Kei’lan Allen was a straight-A student at Westlawn Middle school, and according to his cousin Corey Prewitt who created the GoFundMe, he was "simply a kind-hearted child."

There have been arrests made in this case surrounding Allen's death. A second suspect was taken into custody for Kei’lan's murder.

The GoFundMe currently has a goal of $50,000 and at the time of writing sits at just under $400. Prewitt addressed Kei’lans mother's living arrangements for the future on the GoFundMe page.

"There are no plans of her returning to the old home she lost her son in, her oldest born and precious loved child, so I’m taking matters into my own hands in hopes of raising enough money to get her a new home. I’m asking that everyone keep my family in prayer, knowing that this is a very tragic moment and time for us to deal with. Please feel free to donate whatever is placed on your heart to give. I thank you all in advance. May God bless you!"
