The university is beginning construction of a new facility for students training to serve in our nation’s armed forces.

Alabama will have a new ROTC and student veterans center located on the east side of campus near the student recreation center.

The new facility will be 20,000 ft² and will meet all current military training standards while also supporting students academically, according to Dr. Tiffany A. Sippial, associate provost for undergraduate education.

This move is important on many levels and will continue to keep UA on the cutting edge of student development among major universities in America.

Current plans are for the center to give Army and Air Force ROTC cadets access to a great local facility with expanded spaces, supporting physical conditioning and advanced training tools, including combat simulators and reaction courses.

These technologies are interactive and will strengthen individual skills and support the development of future military leaders.

Construction of the new ROTC facility and student veterans center is scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
