Two men were injured Wednesday night at Forrester Gardens Apartments in Tuscaloosa when an unknown suspect opened fire on them with a shotgun, according to investigators.

Captain Kip Hart, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called to the apartment complex on James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway around 10:30 Wednesday night, where they found a 23-year-old with injuries consistent with a shotgun blast in his back.

A second victim, 32, had already been taken to DCH with similar wounds in his own back.

Neither man's injuries were life-threatening, but they could not tell investigators anything about the person who shot them.

Hart said police found some cash, spent shotgun shells and a pistol at the crime scene and the investigation will continue.
