Get ready to welcome back a cherished holiday tradition in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa. The Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail returns for another season, presented by University Medical Center, Pepsi, and The City of Tuscaloosa.

Bringing the holiday spirit to life, the annual Tinsel Trail transforms Government Plaza with sparkling lights, over 200 Christmas trees, and activities for all ages. “From custom, hand-made ornaments to playful decorations, sponsors bring their holiday spirit to life on the Trail,” said the press release.

Celebrate the season at Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail, which starts Monday, November 24, and runs through Thursday, January 1, 2026. The trail is free and open to the public.

“Each year, we are finding new ways to create lasting memories for families and bring together the people of our community,” said Kevin Besnoy, Tuscaloosa’s One Place Executive Director. “The Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail is a celebration of the lively spirit that makes Tuscaloosa so special. Each tree tells a story, and together, they create a place for families and individuals to share in the joy of the holidays.”

Tinsel Trail Event Schedule

Grand Opening — Monday, November 24, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Join us as we officially kick off the 2025 Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail season. Enjoy holiday music, refreshments, complimentary photos with Santa, and get a first look at the sponsored trees and displays. Grand Opening is presented by University Medical Center, Pepsi, and The City of Tuscaloosa.

Suit Up with Santa — Saturday, December 6, from 1 – 3 p.m.

Show off your favorite holiday attire for complimentary photos with Santa and a stroll on the Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail. Suit Up with Santa is presented by Price McGiffert Construction Co., Inc.

Pet Palooza — Sunday, December 7, from 3 – 5 p.m.

Let your furry friends enjoy a walk on the Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail, meet community pet partners, grab a free pet treat, and enter to win best-dressed pet and other awards. Pet Palooza is presented by RiverFall Credit Union.

Holiday Market — Saturday, December 13, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Shop unique gifts from local vendors, enter raffles to win prizes, and enjoy a stroll along the Tuscaloosa’s One Place Tinsel Trail. Holiday Market is presented by SignPro of Tuscaloosa.

Family Night — Friday, December 19, from 4 – 6 p.m.

Join Tuscaloosa’s One Place on the Tinsel Trail for family activities including crafts, games, a scavenger hunt, and loads of holiday fun. Family Night is presented by Premier Service Company, Inc.
