READ MORE: Heightened Risk Across West Alabama for Damaging Winds & Hail

"These storms will be in an environment that will allow them to grow quickly," said the National Weather Service in Birmingham. "Tall storms will allow for strong cores, which could easily produce damaging winds up to 60 mph and large hail. These storms will also be producing near constant lightning and heavy rainfall."
And don't forget, If you can hear thunder, it means lightning is close enough to reach you, so stay safe.
