After 6 years of sports television, I co-hosted my first radio show on The Steve Shannon Morning Show with Simone Eli, beginning at 5AM! I was so anxious to get started this morning that I didn't sleep at all, so the 3:30AM wake up call was painful. When I rolled into the station I was the first in the building. Like a child on the first day of school, I had my pen and note pad ready. I quickly realized that radio with Steve Shannon doesn't need a script. We immediately started laughing and having a great time! I ALREADY LOVE RADIO!

The big topic on the show involved the Olympics. The United States currently leads all countries with 69 medals (26 gold, 21 silver and 22 bronze). Gymnast Simone Biles and swimmer Simone Manuel have combined for 7 of those American medals. I joked on-air that those two were my favorite athletes (OF COURSE) because of their names ... and in 9 months we will see a boom of babies being named 'Simone'.

Today was my first day working back in Alabama since I left FOX 10 News in Mobile in 2014 for Houston, Texas. I am so excited to be back in Alabama around Crimson Tide Football! Only 19 days until kickoff! Also, I cannot wait for the high school football season to kickoff later this week. My amazing fiance, Bart Sessions, is the new head football coach at Tuscaloosa County High. I cannot wait to see him and the Wildcats in action Friday! I'm excited to bring y'all wedding planning updates as I get closer to walk down the isle!

So, the exhaustion is setting in! I definitely need to get to bed earlier than midnight with a 3:30AM alarm! See y'all tomorrow morning!
