I remember specifically being at my daughter's house when my grandson asked if he could play some of his video games.

My daughter told him that he could play one of his games, but he could not play Roblox, and he had better not get on that game without permission from his parents.

When I asked her why that game was not allowed, my daughter told me multiple stories about predators who use the game to reach children online.

Now it hits close to home as two Alabama girls in Dale County are suing the maker of the game, along with the people behind the messaging app Discord.

In recent years, Discord has been at the center of controversy for allowing gamers like Tyler Robinson to post alarming content that should have been flagged long ago.

Some online experts say that it has really replaced the very controversial 4-Chan in the Internet gaming community.

The families in South Alabama are saying that the game maker knew that predators were using the game to contact children, and they did nothing to prohibit such activities.

By the way, one girl is 14 and the other is only 11 years old.

These predators have been around longer than we would like to believe, and are using all popular games and media to reach their targets.

The lawsuit claims that the Roblox “age verification” and safety protocols are not compatible with the real world in 2025.
