Long evenings, laughter echoing through the park, live music drifting through warm air, and children chasing one more adventure before another school year begins. While mid-July reminds us that summer is moving along, there's still plenty of time to make sweet summer memories, and Tuscaloosa offers countless ways to do just that.

Whether you're looking for a family outing, a date night, or an excuse to get out of the house, our community has something waiting around nearly every corner. Music lovers can enjoy an unforgettable evening under the stars as GRAMMY-winning artist Lauren Daigle takes the stage at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater on July 16th.

Prefer a more intimate setting? Settle in with friends at The Sanctuary on 25th and enjoy live performances by the Isabella Hartline Duo or the Southern Comfort Band.

If the theater is calling your name, Theatre Tuscaloosa's heartwarming production of "Big Fish" continues through July 26, while the beautifully restored Bama Theatre invites audiences to enjoy their 'Art House Summer Series' with films that run now through July 31st. They're offering Bama Blockbusters on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m., Morning Movies for Families on select Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., and Marvel Fridays at 7:30 p.m.

Families have no shortage of opportunities to make lasting memories. Spend an afternoon feeding friendly farm animals, climbing aboard a wagon ride, and cooling off at the splash pad at the Tuscaloosa Barnyard. Across the city, more than 20 PARA parks offer places to run, play, and explore, including "Mason's Place," our beloved all-inclusive playground beside Sokol Park. If you want to splash and play a little to cool off from the summer heat and humidity, check out the refreshing splash pad at Palmore Park.

As the day winds down, the fun doesn't have to. Gather your friends for a one-of-a-kind Silent Listening Party at Twelve25 Sports Bar, where everyone dances to their own beat through Bluetooth headphones while sharing the same unforgettable evening.

The best summers aren't measured by how many days are left on the calendar, but by the memories we make along the way. So pack a picnic, buy the concert tickets, visit a local park, or introduce your children to something new. Before long, backpacks will replace beach towels and alarm clocks will replace lazy mornings. Until then, let's celebrate everything that makes summer in Tuscaloosa a season worth savoring.
