Northport, Al : Lock Your Cars And Secure Your Belongings
Car break-ins can happen anywhere. Jerami Bailey reports the latest incident on 38th Avenue off of Main in Northport. Jerami shared that the family car was rummaged through during overnight or early morning hours and money was taken. Jeremi posted on the Northport Crime and Predators Information Facebook group page that Northport police were notified.
There have been other break-ins in the vicinity of Main Avenue reported. Police warn citizens to lock your cars and always keep your guns and money out of your parked car. Park in a lighted area if possible, although this is not always a deterrent. Security surveillance cameras have photographed guys walking under floodlights checking doors to see if automobiles are locked. Extremely bold behavior on the part of these perpetrators.
Police officers believe the thieves are often looking for guns left in cars.
Always report car break-ins so the police can track areas in the city that thieves are targeting. And always lock your car doors, leaving nothing valuable in the parked vehicle.
