The movie, "Jesus Revolution," tells the story of the rise of faith-centered music in the '70s.

Those artists started a genre of music that is more popular than ever in the US, as well as in Alabama.

In January of 2025, Tuscaloosa got the first locally-based Contemporary Christian Music station, known as 101.7 The River.

A surprising announcement came this week that involves Alabama and the Jesus Music revolution from the early days.

In October of this year, a reunion of some of the biggest names from the Jesus Music era is getting back together for a one-time reunion concert.

Where did they choose to go for this reunion show?

Alabama!

According to a breaking news story on ccmmagazine.com, the lineup features legendary acts Love Song, Phil Keaggy, Randy Matthews, and Honeytree, with appearances by John Schlitt of Petra, Billy Smiley of WhiteHeart, and acclaimed guitarist Dann Huff. Huff, one of the most respected musicians in the world as well as a featured musician on the biggest music albums in history from Michael Jackson, Amy Grant, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Chicago, Madonna, and hundreds more, rarely appears and plays live these days.

Huff will be reuniting with his mates from Whiteheart, one of the first Rock/Pop mega groups of the early Christian music scene.

Hosting duties will be shared by Schlitt and Smiley, bringing together decades of Christian rock history in one place.
