Alabama Head Coach Nate Oats Confirms Bediako Will Remain on Scholarship Regardless of Judge Ruling
We are still awaiting a decision from Tuscaloosa Circuit Court Judge Daniel Pruet regarding Charles Bediako's preliminary injunction against the NCAA after Friday morning's hearing. One of the arguments from David Holt, Bediako's attorney, was that if Bediako was not granted the injunction, he would be taken off scholarship and unable to complete his degree at the University of Alabama.

However, according to Crimson Tide men's basketball head coach Nate Oats, that isn't the case.
"Yeah, 100%," Oats said when asked on Friday if Alabama would keep Bediako on scholarship. "Charles is our guy. That's been our point since the beginning; this isn't some random 23-year-old, played professionally in Europe for 4 years that nobody knew, that we're bring over as a mercenary halfway through the season like some other places have done.
"That's not what we got going. Charles is our guy. Charles went to school here for four years. I've got a relationship with Charles; that's why the whole thing made sense. He's within his five-year window. He's trying to get his degree. Yeah, if Charles is unable to keep playing - I just got out of practice, so I'm not sure what happened - but yeah. Charles is in school; he's gonna remain in school. He wants to get his degree."
As of publication, there is no verdict from Judge Pruet.
