The SEC announced today that the Alabama Crimson Tide (18-6, 13-2) will play the Georgia Bulldogs (14-9, 7-9) in Athens on Saturday March 6 at 1 p.m. CT. The Crimson Tide has this game added to its schedule due to the postponement of its trip to Texas A&M on Feb. 18.
The No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide (18-6, 13-2) fell to the No. 20 Arkansas Razorbacks (18-5, 10-4) 81-66 on the road, failing to capitalize on its opportunity to secure the SEC regular season championship. Arkansas is now riding an eight-game winning streak in the SEC after the victory.
On the cusp of clinching its first SEC regular season championship since 2002, the Alabama athletic department has signed Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oats to a three-year contract extension along with a financial raise.
NCAA tournament rounds usually only have one day in between them and this will give the Tide, which hasn't been in the NCAA tournament since 2018, an opportunity to simulate a successful tournament weekend.
