The Building Bridges Institute for Racial Reconciliation is excited to present its " Lace Up For Love” Sneaker Ball, where unity and festivity meet fun, sneaker fashion, and fundraising.

A Night of Celebration, Style, and Purpose

The highly anticipated event will take place on Friday, June 20, starting at 7 p.m. at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center, located at 620 Greensboro Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.

“We believe that love is the foundation of reconciliation,” said Amy Davis, Vice President of Building Bridges Institute for Racial Reconciliation. “The Lace Up For Love Sneaker Ball is a celebration of that belief, bringing people together across backgrounds and cultures to take meaningful steps together.”

The press release said that organizers are “encouraging guests to dress to impress—formal wear with their freshest decorated sneakers. This unique twist not only symbolizes stepping into a shared future of community and love but also invites attendees to express themselves boldly and comfortably.”

LOOK: Iconic products released the year you were born

American history can often be remembered through our consumer habits. That's why Stacker ranked the iconic products released from the year you were born, starting in 1919. From Slurpees to iPods, this list is a pop culture-infused trip down memory lane.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
