The system is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico by mid-week, though forecast models show little consensus on its eventual path.

The European model ensemble members show the system turning westward and dissipating over the western Gulf.

In contrast, the American GFS model shows it as a weakening system moving toward the Central Gulf Coast but has the "potential to bring beneficial rain amounts to parts of the Deep South this weekend (November 9-10)," said James Spann, ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.

At this point, it's too soon to determine the system's exact track and intensity.
