Friday Primary Threat Outlook
Alabama residents should be aware that the incoming system's threats include damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said, "This is NOT a level 3 risk for tornadoes, but rather is driven by the heightened risk for damaging, straight-line winds.”
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, "During the peak of the daytime heating late this afternoon and this evening, a few storms could produce strong, gusty winds and some hail. Forecast wind profiles suggest no meaningful tornado threat.”
