
Tuscaloosa Sorority Leads Community Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
Join the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for the “Red Wears Pink – Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.” The walk will take place on Saturday, November 29, from 8 a.m. until Noon at the Minnie Sellers Shelter, 2101 Bowers Park Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.

This walk serves as a united community push to raise awareness, inspire advocacy, and drive meaningful action in support of breast cancer prevention and support.
Rooted in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s unwavering dedication to sisterhood and service, the “Red Wears Pink – Breast Cancer Awareness Walk” reflects their commitment to supporting those on their breast cancer journey. Celebrating their “sisters on their journeys, celebrate our survivors, and honor the lives of those we have lost. Their courage and resilience continue to inspire us all,” said the press release.
Additionally, the sorority remains unwavering in its mission to uplift and support communities, especially as they face the health disparities that disproportionately impact Black women. The press release said that “With higher mortality rates and later-stage diagnoses, the call for early detection, education, and equitable access to care has never been more urgent.”
