When it comes to our favorite foods in America, a lot of people share similar tastes. Between burgers, fries, and fried chicken, the U.S. has built signature ways of fulfilling our food needs.

Usually, our favorite piece of chicken is fried by a family member or a close one. That is normally where we learn how we would like our chicken prepared.

In Birmingham, according to Yelp, one of the best chicken places is Eugene’s Hot Chicken in the Hoover area near the Galleria.

From the lemon pepper flavor all the way up to stupid hot, surely Eugene’s has a flavor for you to enjoy. They batter and fry their chicken in a signature blend of spices, then dip the chicken in an oil and season it with your spice of choice. Honestly, they kind of remind me of Hattie B’s, but they add their own flair to it.

Sixth on that same list is Saw’s BBQ, also in the Hoover area.

Although this restaurant may specialize in the 12th most popular food in America, which is Barbeque Ribs, they landed on the fried chicken list because of their fried chicken sandwich. Available in two flavors, sweet heat (ranch, pickles, slaw, and a slight kick) & The Colonel (sweet tea chicken, pimento, & tomatoes).

Regardless of how you prefer your chicken, there is likely an option available to suit your taste. Grandma or mom is more than likely always going to be the favorite, but there are plenty of places that would love to be the second favorite. When you get a chance, try out some new options. It could be the beginning of a new marriage of flavors you didn’t see coming.
