Residents of Alabama are used to a form of southern hospitality when it comes to food.

With the state being known for it’s barbeque, there are a bunch of options when it comes to that. But there is more to us than just the traditional rack of ribs with white sauce.

Expectations for flavors in Alabama are usually high depending on who you’re asking. With all of the other things Alabama is known for you could be surprised about how good the food can get.

Tuscaloosa specifically has several options for foods outside of the natural barbeque selections. We have excellent options for pizza, tacos, seafood, and more. There are choices for Ramen tastes, there are even choices for those of you who chose the Vegan lifestyle.

Eater composed a list of the best 15 restaurants in Tuscaloosa. Among these 15 most are different from one another in culture. The list includes Vegan Ish, Half Shell, & Fuku Ramen for example. All different kinds of restaurants, proving the range of options available.

Also on this list is Forte Cuts and Cocktails, co-owned by ex-head football coach Nick Saban. This restaurant is a mixture of French flavors and a traditional steakhouse. With dishes from beignets to octopus you can be sure to find some flavors you haven’t tried before.

With all the different options readily available, even picky eaters can find something for themselves in Tuscaloosa. A lot of the places on this list were closer to the downtown area and aren’t too difficult to find. So if you find yourself in town, be sure to drop in on one of these spots for some good eats.
