Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and the Wild Bill Show is all about raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, a disease that is often misunderstood.

• Alzheimer’s is fatal. It kills more than breast and prostate cancer combined.
• Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a progressive brain disease without any cure.
• Alzheimer’s is more than memory loss.
Wednesday, June 21, Tuscaloosa and Americans across the country will wear purple for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month.  Alzheimer’s is one of the top 10 causes of death in the United States and to date has no proven cure.

Every 66 seconds another human is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and more then 90,000 people in Alabama, and more than 15 million nationwide, whose families are affected by the disease.
