On average, teachers in Alabama make around $48,000 each year.
According to a report on AL.com, these are the Top 7 school districts paying teachers the most money in Alabama.
7. BIRMINGHAM CITY
Teachers in Birmingham make a little over $50,000 annually on average, and the district has over 1,500 teachers.
6. TRUSSVILLE CITY
Trussville teachers make over $51,000 on average, and the district has about 300 teachers.
5. AUBURN CITY
Auburn teachers make nearly $52k a year, and the district has almost 500 teachers employed.
4. HOOVER CITY
These teachers make over $53,000 on average, and there are about 1,000 teachers on staff.
3. HOMEWOOD CITY
Homewood teachers are also over $53k, and about $500 more than in Hoover.
There are around 250 teachers in the district.
2. VESTAVIA HILLS CITY
These teachers are making over $54,000 on average, and the district has around 400 teachers.
1. MOUNTAIN BROOK CITY
Of course, it has to be Mountain Brook at the top! These teachers make $56,000+ on average, and there are around 350 teachers in this district.
WHAT ABOUT TUSCALOOSA COUNTY?
I was shocked to see Tuscaloosa County ranked #49, according to the report from AL.com.

$45,000
I hope the data is older, and Tuscaloosa is paying more this year. If not, this HAS to change.
