Every year, one big controversy centers around the Thanksgiving holiday and what will be open or closed.

Now, it seems to come up for every holiday.

Lowes has announced that they will be closing for 24 hours on Easter Sunday.

The company said they want to allow their employees to be with family on that day.

There are unconfirmed reports that Sam's Club and Target will also be closed for Easter.

Home Depot, however, will be open on Easter Sunday.

Lowes currently has 1,751 locations in the US.

Home Depot has 2,012 locations across the country.

Last Easter, Kohl's and Target both received lots of publicity for their decision to close their doors.

Yet, mega retailer Walmart stayed open on Easter last year.

According to a report from the US Sun,  most Alabama shoppers can expect these stores to be open on Easter:
