Alabama Elementary Student Left Behind On Field Trip To Tennessee
How could this happen in 2022?

An Alabama elementary school field trip to a zoo in Nashville led to a student being left, alone, at the Nashville Zoo.
OK, full disclosure, this writer grew up in Nashville and was left behind during a field trip to Hickory Hollow Mall in 1982.
It was all my fault. I snuck away to the ice cream store and thank God a chaperone was able to save the day and get me back to school.
Maybe it's something about Nashville.
I don't mean to be sarcastic, but isn't someone in charge of counting the students when they get off and back ON the bus?
Here's some more information from a TV station in Nashville.
Well. in this case I guess not.
According to the school Superintendent, Beth Patton, "We are so glad the student is safe...As you can imagine, we are all devastated this occurred."
More on that in a minute, but this is an elementary student. How scary it must have been to realize you were left behind in a different state!
I guess it's not as crazy as the amount of stories of kids being left on a school bus for hours.
I can understand the possibility of a field trip incident but how do you forget kids on the school bus?
Just look at what happened with this youngster earlier this year.
What's next? I don't even want to answer that.
It should not be this hard to count school children every day in Alabama or America.
Can we agree on that?
