Interstate 59 reopens after being closed for 10 hours last night !
Alabama Department of Transportation and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reopened Interstate 59 east and westbound lanes just after 5 AM this morning.

The interstate was closed since 7 PM last night due to a violent thunderstorm at the Greene County line near Ralph due to storm debris in the road in both directions.

Authorities worked overnight to clear the hazards.   Captain Ray Allen reports many motorists were stranded in vehicles during the ordeal.

There is also a dense fog advisory for West Alabama until 10 AM today,  motorists are urged to use caution.
