Aside from strange things that could randomly pop up at Dollar General stores, there's been recent arrests regarding a huge loss of inventory at an Alabama Dollar General.
According to WALA, Mobile County Sheriff's Office has arrested five individuals in connection with an organized theft ring targeting a Dollar General store in Grand Bay.
The arrests followed an investigation into the store, located at 10477 Ramsey Road, after authorities were alerted on October 10 to possible criminal activity at the site.
Since the store's opening on March 26, 2023, it had reported a loss of $385,246 in inventory, prompting further scrutiny. Investigators reviewed extensive surveillance footage, which led them to identify the store's assistant manager, Brittany Forrest, and employee Calie Kent, as well as three individuals with no affiliation to the store: Carl Kent, Ophia Gordon, and Irial Forrest. The three non-employees are said to be family members or friends of the two staff members.
The five suspects were arrested on Thursday in connection with the theft scheme.
