In terms of its outcome, A-Day is meaningless. But when factoring in statistics, it then becomes something of note.

And while statistics from this game aren’t necessarily indicative of how that player will perform come fall, it is still worth highlighting the individual performances from the annual spring scrimmage played Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

All five of Alabama’s quarterbacks played – two on one team, three on the other – in a position battle that likely won’t be decided until just before the start of the 2015 season.

On the other end of those passes, at least two players played well enough to earn co-MVP honors. A few others, mostly unexpected names, also had productive days catching the ball.

At running back, the usual suspect, Derrick Henry, led the way, with Kenyan Drake limited for precautionary reasons as he works to fully recover from a season-ending broken leg injury last season. Drake wore a black non-contact jersey during the scrimmage, forcing defensive players to tag him instead of tackling him.

Defensively, cornerback Bradley Sylve had a team-high nine tackles (seven solo), while Christian Miller led the way in sacks with two. Six separate Crimson Tide players also had an interception.

While still a high number for a spring scrimmage, the announced crowd of 65,175 was the lowest in the nine-year Nick Saban era at Alabama. Last season's 73,506 fans was the previous low.

The White (first-team offense) defeated the Crimson (first-team defense), 27-14.
