Tuscaloosa police say a 12-year-old girl brought a gun to school on Monday.   The report says the girl felt she was being bullied at Westlawn Middle School and brought a handgun in her backpack.

Police say the young girl reported the gun missing to her teacher, and it was later found in the backpack of a 14-year-old boy/classmate.  The two were arrested and held in the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with certain persons forbidden from carrying a firearm, and the boy received an additional charge of tampering with evidence.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, the Tuscaloosa Police Department brought in metal detectors on Tuesday and searched the backpacks of students coming into Westlawn Middle School.  #WildBillShow #DonHartley #953TheBear
