West Alabama Rallies Around Heroic Teen And His Family
THIS is why I love this community of West Alabama.

It's during times when it seems really dark and hopeless.
Yet this community stands up and says, "We WILL do whatever it takes to help!"
It begins with a heart-wrenching story about a teenager in our area dealing with a terrible disease.
A disease that should only be allowed to impact grown-ups.
However, it just doesn't work that way.
Young Will was diagnosed with osteosarcoma earlier in 2025.
On top of dealing with that diagnosis, Will and his family have had to navigate through the treatments and medications, which can simply bankrupt a family.
This family has had to deal with one thing after another over the last several months.
Recently, Will's mom, Brittney, shared one of the struggles they face in regard to Will's medications.

INSURANCE COMPANIES
It's a serious problem in this country.
In this case, it's Blue Cross/Blue Shield, but it could be any one of the insurance companies in business these days.
Everything is a BATTLE!
Everything takes an act of Congress to get anything done!
Brittney (Will's mother) was dealing with a medication that is critical to Will's illness, and he needs to take it immediately.
However, they were told it would take up to 10 business days to "process" it and get it delivered so Will could begin taking it.
No. That's not gonna get it done.
Brittney, like any mom, was desperate and needed some help and some good news.
It was great to see the flood of folks stepping up and offering to drive to Memphis to pick up Will's medication.
THAT IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT
It certainly should be a part of what Christmas is all about.
After all those who were willing to get involved and help in any way, Brittney returned with some good news.

Please keep Brittney, Jason, Will, and this entire family in your prayers this Christmas season.
Will has been through more than any of us can imagine. What an amazing young man.
Will is a hero.
