Walt Maddox: There May Be News On Old McFarland Mall Property By Late Summer

There aren't many places where you can hear the Mayor of Tuscaloosa sound so relaxed and straight-shootin'.
When we have him for a few minutes, he is willing to answer any question we throw at him. This time, he was in rare form!
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox used his appearance on the 95.3 Bear Steve & DC Morning Show to end ALL speculation that he will run for Governor against Tommy Tuberville.
Just for fun, we asked Maddox if he ran as an Independent, could he beat Tuberville? The mayor said no.
Tuberville has a 60% favorability rating.
Maddox, when pressed, said he might endorse Tuberville.
We posed another hypothetical question to the mayor. Would you run for a senate seat? He ruled out running for Tubberville’s seat, but left the door open for future Senate races.
Maddox stressed how happy he is to be the mayor of Tuscaloosa.
He enjoys not having to put up with the partisan bickering found in Washington.
Maddox addressed the Sports Illustrated Resort rumors.
He also talked about Tuscaloosa’s population increase. And he reported we could see Saban Center construction by late July.
Maddox said there had been positive talks with developer Stan Pate and the city regarding the old McFarland Mall property. The mayor said there could be positive news by late summer.
